1982 Bally Mr And Mrs Pacman Pinball Machine

I found this unbelievable 1980's era treasure stashed away in a local garage. It's a mr. & mrs. Pac-man pinball machine, manufactured by bally / midway and releasde in may, 1982.
The production run on this pinball machine has been confirmed at 10,600 units worldwide. oHw many of them are left, however, is anybody's guess! Based on namco's classic pac-man series, this particular pinball machine's most notable feature is the pac maze vid-grid in the middle of the playfield. Acting in a sort of early video game mode (very unique fro an early 80's pinball machine), you move the yellow dot (pac-man) to light up each space and avoid the red dot (a ghost).
The left flipper button controls which direction you move in, and the right flipper button moves pac-man in that direction. When the pac-man aggressive mode is enabled, it allows you to eta the ghost. The addition of this early video game mode is a very unusual feature not common to pinball machines from that era, making the mr. nAd mrs. Pac-man machine even more highly collectible and sought-after. Not being very fmailiar with pinball machines in general, i consulted with a person more knowledgeable in the field of grading their condition. He said that three things are graded by collectors the cabinet, the playing field, and the back glass. After talkign with him over the phone, i went out to our garage and looked this machine over. This is the first time i have ever tried to grade a pinball machine's condition, but i would say my best guess would be that the cabinet is original paint but not in very good condition. I would estimate it might be a 5. The playing field is somewhat worn, but not extremely worn, and there is very little wear around the flipper area, so i would say the playing field might be a 7.
And the back glass is the best of all, it doesn't look worn at all, so i would rate it a 9 or 10. This, i hvae been told, is very good because most mr. And mrs. Pac-man pinball machines suffer frmo considerable deterioration (paint flaking) on that back glass.
Thsi one doesn't. The rest of the machine is as follows one flipper does not work, there is a wire that has come in two inside the machine. If you open the door and hold the two ends of the wire together so that they make contact, then the flipper will work. However, i would suppose this means that the wire will need to be repaired.
In addition to that, the part where the door locked and the quarters were supposed to go in has been fixed so that it will not lock even though there were keys taped to the top of the machine. (some kind fo good ol' boy stuff going on there at one time or another! ) one of the inserts where the quarters went has a small crack or hole in it, which is visible in the photograph i took of the front of the machine. The cabinet, as stated before, is the original finish and paint, but it has been scraped up pretty badly in spots.
There is a black stain or scrape on the side of the cabinet, which also appears in one of the photographs. All of the glass is intact there are no cracks or chips in any of the glass. The lines appearing in the photos are either the extension cord attached to my camera (it eats batteries) or the lines that are appearing are just reflections in the glass of the siding on the side of my garage, as i tried to take the photos of this machine in natural daylight whenever possible the lights come on and the machine keeps a digital scoreboard properly and plays as it should. The voice and sounds also work as they should.
Additional photographs are available upon request. This is really a fun game. In fact, it's all i can do to keep my husband and kid from playing it constantly!
This very heavy item is too big fro me to even attempt to ship. The lucky winning bidder should plan on picking ti up in person. This rare and unique 1980's collectible certainly takes you back in time as soon as you hear those familiar pac-man whoop-whoop sounds as thoes dings and bells start up. It's a real treasure.
