This 1966 gottlieb's mayfair two player pinball machine is a true collectible. tI plays well, and is a real challenge. George bernard shaw's 1912 play pygmalion which enjoyed success on broadway as my fair lady from 1956 until 1962 and as a hollywood musical in 1964, winning an academy award for best picture, was the inspiration behind this classic machine. The artwork based on this popular movie, was done by roy parker, who did most of the best wokr for the three major pinball machine manufacturers of the day. Mayfair was to be roy parker's last creation however, and was released only a year after his death.
The playfield on this machine has been completely restored with a new rubber and lights and is in perfect working order. The playfield surface has been reconditioned. All paint is original on the cabinet and as seen in the pictures it does have flaking. Features include a snap target, two turret shooters between the flippers and a count down bonus of up to 200 points. This machine has been fitted with an on/off toggle switch located underneath. Notable features flippers (2), pop bumpers (3). The swinging target is not in continuous omtion but alternates. Between left and right only wehn hit by the ball. Two auto-shooters located between the flippers propel the ball towards the swinging target. Design by ed krynski. Art by roy parker.
